Beauty and a Beastly Challenge
We currently have three teenagers. Those five words contain serious emotion for both them and us. If you have been blessed with raising a teenager, you understand. It’s been said that when young adults turn 25, they realize and appreciate their parents. I’m not sure, as we have not experienced the age of 25. Our son Connor would have been that age now.
Lately, challenges seem unending and insurmountable. Daily, we are confronted with loss, bad news and more bad news. I find myself turning off connectivity as it worsens. I’m filled with tears & sadness.
Then, a blessing…
Early this morning my phone rang with a FaceTime call from our son, 1300 miles away. Immediately, my heart raced. What was wrong? College kids aren’t up this early!
I answered and witnessed the glory of the sun, rising over the Grand Canyon on my phone! My eyes filled with tears of joy, seeing such magnificence, for the first time.
Our son Calvin goes to college in Phoenix. He got up at 3am this morning (possibly never slept?) traveled 3 hours and shared this moment with his Dad and I. Day made!! 🙂
God continues to send us light in the darkness. HIS saving grace IS the good news! Keep looking up friends!
Peace & Blessings,
Mama C
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Deuteronomy 31:6
Calvin!! What a beautiful loving gesture! He is a good boy! And you both are blessed so big, just to have each other!!!
Nice move, Calvin! You were taught by the best !!!
