My Connor story….

The following was written from a younger sister’s heart, two years and three months later…

He called himself Ronnoc the Cunning. Ronnoc is his name spelled backwards with a twist. He thought it was funny. He was clever.

One summer day Connor picked me up from volleyball camp. He asked me how camp was. He told me he was taking me to Annie’s Frozen Custard. He also told me not to tell anyone about it. This day was one of the best of my life. I have kept our secret for two and a half years now! I would finally like to tell you about this special event.

Connor ws a straight A student and a very loving older brother. He understood me more than anyone else. I loved him very much. One of his favorite sayings was: “Can I get a hoyah?” (and Claire would answer back “hoyah!”). He would also watch Disney movies that Carter and I loved!

Connor worked at two places in Edwardsville; AMC Theatres and Annie’s Frozen Custard. When my family went to AMC we always got free movies because he worked there! Connor also took care of me and Carter when our parents were at work. When he watched us, it was loads of fun! This is just another reason why I loved Connor.

When this particular event happened, he had just picked me up from volleyball camp. I had a very bad morning.

He said, “Hi Callie!” I answered excitedly, “Hi!” He asked, “How are you feeling today?” I answered, “Better now!” He asked, “How would you like some Annie’s? I know that you had a bad morning, maybe ice cream would help?” “I would love some Annie’s!” I exclaimed! He was excited, but stated, “Don’t tell anyone about this okay? I don’t want anyone to be jealous!” I said, “okay!” and it was final. Connor and I had so much fun together!

When I think about this event I want to ask him, “Connor, why did you have to leave? I miss you SO much!” When I think about Connor, I go into a trance. When Carter and I have a straight face contest, I don’t smile as big anymore. Although this event took place two and a half years ago, I still remember as if it was yesterday! I wish Connor had not left this world so soon. The Lord thought it was his time. He must have done, what he came into this world to do- in nineteen short years! Connor will always and forever be in my heart. I love and miss him tons!  He would be so happy that I am getting stronger now!
