What if I gave everything?

What if I gave everything?

And He got up and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Hush, be still.” And the wind died down and it became perfectly calm. And He said to them, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?” They became very much afraid and said to one another, “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?” Mark 4:39-41

Worry is futile, yet our hearts and minds feel it, despite how hard we push back. Worry is a natural response to fear and LOSS is a great fear. We worry about health, home, employment, friends and family as we fear their loss. Fear may cause us not to act when we could, frozen in fear. All of these are a part of who we are and a part of our hearts.

Hurricanes, fires and floods are causing loss of life and possessions. Family and friends are battening down or fleeing Florida with a deadly hurricane upon them. We, like many, have family that are staying put and praying for the best. Fear has set in, as we wait to see the results of this mighty storm. We are feeling helpless for those in need. What can we do? We can pray. God may not answer our prayers the way we would hope or ask for. However, this does not mean He loves us any less. If you believe that He is sovereign, you must trust Him in ALL storms big and small.

Our mom is staying put, in a town, a skip away from the ocean. To say I am not fearful would be false. Emotions are high as we anticipate the future. Please pray for ALL in harms way. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

Faith, I would not be here today without it. Peace, has been felt in the most unexpected circumstances. These are miracles. If you have not found Christ, know that He is waiting for you. Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. Matthew 7:7

Why am I still holding back, from you? I hear you call me out, into deeper waters, but I settled on the shallow end. So why am I still standing here. You’ve given me a faith that can move a mountain, but I’m still playing in the sand… Casting Crowns – What if I gave everything.

Forever looking up,
