Hope is my favorite four letter word.  We all “hope” for things in this life.  As death takes people from us, that “hope” can fade as we contemplate why?  Why would God do this to them, us or to me?  Death is not natural.  We were not created to die.  For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23  We were created to have abundant life in Him.  God’s love is so great that He willingly gave his only son, to die in our place!

Blind faith, in eternal life, is hope.  Hope gives us strength as the problems of this world come crashing down daily.  Issues seem greater without them. We are not privileged to see the realities of heaven.  Each morning, try looking up to our Savior, knowing that He loves you and will guide you through the deep waters of today.

You could not have done something to save your loved one.  Your love could not save someone from death.  Christ’s love moves us from death to eternal life.  You are not being punished.  Loss hurts as deeply as you have loved.  We have loved deeply.  Death takes away present and future times of physically holding onto that person, watching them grow with you, seeing dreams and once spoken aspirations now gone.  Believing in Christ and salvation means that our loved ones have only walked into a glorious place as they are advanced into Heaven, alive in Christ!  I pray your faith in Him grows ever stronger as your weakness creeps in.  He will bring you through, as you patiently allow him to.

Live each day intentionally.  Find purpose for a greater good in this life.  He will open doors when you knock.  I have seen it.  God’s glory is shining.  Thanks be to God that perfect love triumphed over death.

Merry Christmas!

For in hope we have been saved, but hope that is seen is not hope; for who hopes for what he already sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, with perseverance we wait eagerly for it.  Romans 8:23-24

“Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears our burden, the God who is our salvation. God is to us a God of deliverances, especially from death.” Psalm 68:19-20

Faith, Hope and Love abide these three:  but the greatest of these is love.  1 Corinthians 13:13
