Beyond fear lies freedom.
Happy Day of Independence! Fear does not stop death, it stops life. We have been gifted the freedom to believe in our God who richly provides us with everything we need. We enjoy the freedom to live out our faith. At all times, we are blessed to seek the source of all creation who will grant us peace. We enjoy the freedom to worship with our friends in Christ. “For where two or three gather in my name, there I am with them.” Matthew 18:20. The freedom of prayer reminds us that although we are granted independence in our great nation, we must intensely rely upon God. Freedom of speech allows us to share the gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness gives three examples of the “unalienable rights” which the Declaration says have been given to all human beings by their Creator, and which governments are created to protect. We can experience true joy in this life, as we walk by faith. Happiness is not materialism. We do not need to pursue happiness but rather live it out through the Holy Spirit. We are filled with the Holy Spirit when we turn our lives over to Christ. The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Galatians 5:22-23 This freedom I pray for all.
The difficult roads we walk remind us that there are times we share in the suffering, so that together we may one day rejoice in His freedom and glories. Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though some strange thing were happening to you; but to the degree that you share the sufferings of Christ, keep on rejoicing, so that also at the revelation of His glory you may rejoice with exultation. 1 Peter 4:12-13
We are gifted many freedoms. God gifts us people in this life for support. Most importantly He gifts us the Holy Spirit to guide us. Open your heart to that freedom and keep looking up! You will always go in the direction of your eyes. Enjoy this 4th of July dear friends!
Peace & Blessings,
