Prayers for Lily

This photo is of a brave young lady named Lily. She is in New York having spinal fusion surgery this morning. Lily has Spinal Muscular Atrophy, scoliosis and osteoporosis. She was adopted from China eighteen months ago and is the fifteenth child in her amazing family.  When Lily left China she was 12 and weighed a mere 30 plus pounds. The specialist she was seeing in St. Louis, needed to see weight gain before she would be able to obtain necessary surgery. There have been trials and tribulation as well as miracles in her journey. Today, Lily is 60 beautiful pounds and is under the care of the top spinal specialist in the USA.

I ask for your prayers for Lily’s surgery tomorrow. The surgery will take 10-12 hours. Lily is brave, and walks by faith in Jesus! The doctors gave Lily details of the necessary surgery, explaining the risks. Her mom reassured her that if Jesus made if possible to get her all the way from China, to her family that loves her, and to top medical professionals in New York, that He would also be with her for a successful surgery. Lily’s response: “I think maybe Jesus brought me from China to give me a family.  Maybe He did this so that I would know I was loved, before this surgery, no matter the outcome.” As you go about your life  today, please remember Lily. Words cannot begin to express the passion felt for a successful surgery.  Please lift her and her family up in prayer.

From Lily’s Mom yesterday:
Lily got a central line put in today, more x-rays and blood work. It was a long day, we went from appointment to appointment for 12 hours and she was such a trooper. I have a very special prayer request. Lily had a bone density test last year in March and it was a minus 4. We were supposed to have one in March but the machine was broken. We don’t really know what her bone density is other that that last test. Please pray that God would do a miracle for Lily’ s bones.OUR GOD is an Awesome GOD and He reigns! He is a miracle working God. Please pray with me for Lily, I know this verse is about salvation. Making dead men come to life, (dry bones). But if God can save men from their sins and give them new hearts, turning the course of their lives and eternal destinies, He can make a 14 year old girls bones grow super strong in 36 hours. Here is the verse, please lift Lily up to God with me.

Lily’s mom and I have been friends for 39 years.  Her family’s hearts, through God’s calling and grace are simply amazing.  Pray for Lily and enjoy today friends!
