Are you weary?
I was working for a small family business and attempting to get to our office. Walking along, I realized I needed to cross a street. Upon crossing the seemingly narrow street, it widened and turned into a highway. When I reached the middle of the highway, I looked down and realized, it had new asphalt on it. It was deep, nearly to my knees, as I slowly waded through. Suddenly, I found myself driving a car. I looked up and realized I had missed my turn. The next option possible landed me in a school parking lot. It was busy and I did not know the normal flow of traffic in the school. I stopped to let students cross. A kind soul directed me to where the traffic safely flowed. My destination was just around the block! I walked inside and realized many of my close friends were waiting for me. They all sat, silently staring. I cried out, “WHAT?! Why are you here?” They told me someone that I loved had died and they held me as I cried. Family showed up to quickly guide me home. Suddenly, I truly awoke to my daughter’s laughter, ending my dream.
Isn’t life this way? We are blessed with moments and people in our lives. Suddenly things get hard to wade through and we get lost. We set out to reach a destination and obstacles are placed in our path. We stop and realize we are knee deep, in dung. We get in a hurry, to get out, because it stinks. In our haste, we end up missing the turn we should have taken. We are thrust into another unfamiliar place, yet it involves goodness. We stop to look, until a kind soul moves us along. At last we are near our destination! It’s all good! Upon our arrival, we realize something is not what we expected. We are surrounded by friends and family as we take in devastating news. News that we feel we can never recover from. After time, we are able to hear and appreciate laughter again, Laughter coming from those we love most.
Faith in God. It sees us through. We pray and wait. There comes a point in this life when we realize, we simply need to look up to Him. We are tired and weary of putting together plans. We have truly messed things up and been driving to crises after crises. While we try to do everything ourselves, OUR wonderous plan, we fail. Finally, we bow our head and beg for mercy. There MUST be a God leading us all. We KNOW we cannot do this ourselves. We pray our eyes see clarity, as we open our hearts to Jesus. We pray, He answers. He opens our heart. He gives peace at times we should NEVER have felt it. His undeserving gift to us.
Pain is still felt, difficulties arise, yet NOW we can see the light. It is our choice to move towards the light or stay in present darkness. I pray that you find HIS light. It is amazing AND it’s already paid for.
Walk outside yourself. Look Up to Him. Be grateful for today.
Peace & Blessings,
