What inspires you?
I love being surrounded by people that genuinely desire to help others. It doesn’t matter how big or small, just contributing to another’s success in this life is a gift to yourself. We all have talents. Do you know yours? There are coaches, teachers, detectives, nurses, translators, engineers, entrepreneurs all making a difference. Dads, moms, brothers, sisters, uncles, aunts, grandparents, missionaries, and pastors all changing lives for others daily.
What is your passion? It may not be in a career that makes oodles of dollars, or any money for that matter. It may be a life of servitude that is absolutely changing the life of another human being. Wow! Doesn’t that sound rewarding?! Ask parents of a newborn, a sick child or adults taking care of their parents how easy it is. Okay, it’s not! However, it IS an amazing gift we are given, to be able to care for others in need.
Recently it was stated that college is about learning. It is about learning from books, experiences, BUT most importantly WHO will you SERVE in this life. High school or college students nearing graduation are stressed! They may feel pressure to know what they want to do. What school are you going to? What will you study? What job will you seek out? Will you learn a trade? Oh wait! You are a young adult. Why would you NOT know what you should do FOREVER? Seriously? I meet adults everyday that question if what they are DOING is WHAT they SHOULD be doing. You see, many go after a successful career. How much does it pay? How many years of training does it require? Everyone wants success, right? Are you going for a paycheck or a passion?
When I was younger, I thought success came with a large income, a nice title and a corner office, AND THEN…our first child was born. Holy cow, I thought HOW can I leave this perfect (not) child in the arms of another care giver? Well, passions change, careers change, pay changes all lead to new lessons and at times, new careers. What is important anyway? Today, I can tell you what is important to me. It all comes back to loving and serving. It has nothing to do with the size of a paycheck, title or office. It’s about people. It’s about serving those that may not know how or be able to serve themselves. It’s not truly a decision you make, its a passion you are born with, waiting to be uncovered. Do you want an adventure discovering who you will serve or do you want a safety net? WHO will YOU serve in this life? It’s short….He gave you life, don’t waste it.
Peace & Blessings,
MamaC
