Looking up…
Our last conversation was on October 18th, 2014 in the early afternoon. I remember it vividly as Connor was expressing to me his disappointment…in an adult. It was someone he looked up to. He was always frightfully open and honest. When I look back at that last exchange of words, I remember feeling sad that an adult had been so cruel to him. He was vividly hanging onto the hurt, months later. We spoke of how everyone makes mistakes. We spoke of forgiveness and how you cannot freely move forward in life holding on to anger. He told me how he planned to make something of his life and go back to that person to show them how capable he was. Most everyone that knew Connor, did not question his ability, good heart or intention. We spoke of how he needed to work hard for his own goals and not concern himself with negativity. I finally heard a smile in his voice as he agreed. I am forever thankful for his laugh that day.
Life is short, enjoy your children and know that when a wise person tells you it goes fast, it does. Please remember as adults, kids of all ages look up to you. Treat them as you would desire to be treated. Be kind and give them grace, just as your Father in heaven has given you. You can make all the difference in this world to a child, young adult or even their parents.

So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. Matthew 7:12
Very wise words & good advice. Life is much too short to be saying hurtful or demeaning things to anyone.
