Happy Eighteenth!

Here we are again on the 18th of another month.  Five months sure can seem like an eternity…when you are missing someone.

Today, I choose to think of a happy 18.  Birthday’s are a big deal at our home.  Connor’s 18th birthday was quite a surprise to him!  He thought he was going out to enjoy a dinner with his awesome parents.  😀  He was actually quite happy with that alone!  As we walked outside to get into our car, his limo awaited.  At first he thought we had hired the limo, to take the three of us, first class to dinner.  Instead, his beloved Piasa JC family and friends rolled out of the limo one by one and together shouted Happy Birthday Connor!  His smile was worth every penny of that party.

John and I followed the limo full of 20 kids including his bestie Claire.  (Sister’s have such privilege.)  “Over the river” road we went to the Loading Dock for dinner, whip cream kisses, special gifts, and a beautiful sunset on the river.  “Through the woods” we headed back to his favorite dessert stop, Annie’s Frozen Custard for chocolate with sprinkle concretes for all!

I had several people ask me, “how in the world do you top a birthday like that?”  Guess what, I didn’t… but it was surely one to remember!  Connor thanked us over and over and smiled each time he spoke of that surprise birthday.  I am so thankful we did all that we did, when we had the opportunity.  Don’t let today slip away, make it a happy 18!  Peace & Blessings!  MamaC
