Angels…
I look to the cross and the mercy of Christ for comfort in grief. There are many heavy hearts over this holiday season as Connor is joined in Heaven by his good friend and fellow Piasa JC Jordan this past week. Our family, Jordan’s family, our Piasa family are all reeling from such great loss. I had just spoken with Jordan as he was to visit our home this weekend. Instead we will celebrate his life and say our goodbyes. Death cannot kill what never dies and will be forever in our hearts. Their sparkling lives touched ours and will be felt everyday. Our faith within this CHRISTmas season is the awesome gift of the birth of Jesus! Even as we mourn the loss of our sons, we know that God gave HIS son so that we will walk by faith as his CHOSEN children. This does not keep tears from falling or hearts from breaking, but gives strength in knowing our son Connor and his brother in Christ, Jordan, are celebrating Christmas with Jesus!
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8: 38-39
The phrase “things present, nor the future” reminds us that Christ died for our sins before they were even committed, before we were even born…THIS is the love of Jesus.
Look up, Have faith, Merry Christmas! MamaC
My heartfelt sympathy to your friends who have also had to say goodbye too soon. Prayers continue for you, and now for them. May He grant all of you that peace that surpasses all understanding. Love, Karen K
Amen, Lauri, you are right. I love that verse of scripture. This world has NOTHING to offer us that is not in Christ. Outside of Christ there is no hope for this lost and sinful world. In Christ, there is a great beaming light that pierces the darkness!
