Homecoming

Homecoming

When we give birth it’s such a joyous gift. One year I sent flowers to my Mom on my birthday. After all, she did all the work in delivery and the many years that followed!

Never in a million scraped knees, or belly laughs did I imagine sitting in a cemetery to “visit” our son on my birthday. I share this simply because there are parents of loss everywhere struggling to smile on holidays and at celebrations every year.

There are places I’m supposed to be today. People certain to bring a smile, yet I hesitate. I’d much rather curl up in the safety of our home. It’s easier. I imagine if our son were here, he would no doubt be kicking me out the door, encouraging me to keep looking up, so I do. I pray you do as well.

Much love,

MamaC

Consider it pure joy, my brothers, when you encounter trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Allow perseverance to finish its work, so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. James 1:2-4
